Ferry Ride

Last weekend was so beautiful, so we decided to take the Coronado ferry. It starts in downtown San Diego and travels about 15 minutes to dock on Coronado Island. We all enjoyed the boat ride, looking at beautiful San Diego from the ocean, and enjoying a snack and walk once we got to the island. It was the perfect Saturday in our gorgeous city.

Like her Mom & Dad

Ways Amelia is like her Mom... and her Dad.
She loves to go shopping...but only wants to buy candy.
Holds her own with all the teasing her Dad (Chris) dishes out...she gives it right back.
Likes to sing...loudly in public places.
Loves music....and dancing in the living room.
Loves burritos...eats them everyday.
Has curly hair...it's the softest in town.
Likes to go places...but LOVES to come home.

Chatting with Amelia

My daily conversations with Amelia grow longer and longer...and funnier and funnier. I love to hear what she is thinking about.

We were leaving the zoo yesterday to go home, and I exclaimed that it was a hot day (70 degrees). She then started singing, "It's hot today. It's a hard knock life for us!" She sang these 2 sentences all the way to the car. I thought it was so funny...this California girl is going to have a hard time living in any other climate.

Amelia has had a cold the past few weeks and as a result has had a constant runny nose. Which means that there is always a supply of boogers. She has already started to eat them. So, when I tell her they are yucky she immediately responds, "No mommy, yummy!"

We've been talking a lot about daytime vs. nighttime. She gets mixed up a lot. You can imagine the confusion the heavens create when the moon and sun are up at the same time...

We were talking about our baby boy a few days ago. I explained that when he got bigger I was going to push him out of my tummy. Amelia starting saying "go away baby" "go away baby." She obviously associates pushing with wanting someone to leave.

Amelia has started remembering things she said in the past and then re-telling them. Usually 10-15 minutes after she wakes up from her nap she will re-enact her waking up moments. Or if she wakes up in the middle of the night, she will recount the event for us again in the morning. It goes something like this:

Amelia: "In my bed I said, I said, I want mommy, I want daddy. I said, I said, I want mommy, I want daddy."
Mommy: "Were you crying in your bed?"
Amelia: "Yes, I said, I said, I want mommy, I want I want daddy. I want mommy. I said, I want I want mommy."

Amelia has started trying to delay going to bed at night. I thought this didn't happen until later, but Amelia has already started figuring out tricks. She usually says she is hungry, and if that doesn't work she tries to con us into thinking she is scared. Silly girl...doesn't she know we were young once and tried the same tricks...

Over the Christmas holiday we took care of a friends bunny. Chris would take Amelia over every day to change the litter. Amelia thought it looked like rocks and she is pretty sure that's what the bunny ate. When she talks about the bunny she always mentions that he eats rocks.

We have funny moments every day and I wish I could remember them all. She is such a little joy.

Amelia and Tori

Amelia loves all of her aunts and uncles. Here is a cute picture my sister Tori took last time we visited.

Amelia Singing

This is a picture my sister Tori took of Amelia singing a song. As you can see it takes a lot of effort to sound so good.
