New Swings

Went to Ikea yesterday with a list of 3 things to buy, of course we walked out with more, including 2 swings for the backyard, to add to our collection of swinging things hanging above a brick patio, that will most likely injure children. The kids were thrilled with their new swings.

When Chris was trying to get Miles to smile for the camera miles said, "Take a picture with my mouth open." He's such a goofy kid.

Bathtub

Henry is obsessed with trying to get in the bathroom when Amelia and Miles are bathing. He wants desperately to play with them in the water. And, I am always close by to save him from diving in.

Preschool Carnival

Amelia's preschool hosted a fundraising carnival earlier this month, complete with a bounce house, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, crafts, treats, etc. Pretty much my kids dream afternoon, and my least favorite thing to do on a Saturday. The kids had a blast and Chris and I were good sports and endured the afternoon happily. As you can see, Henry wasn't thrilled either.

Name calling

Miles calls Henry a punkybunk. If you call someone else a punkybunk Miles, very seriously, will say, "No, Henry's a punkybunk."

Also, its obvious my kids don't spend a lot of time with older children, as evidenced by their lack of names to call people when they are angry. They call each other "meaner" or "punkybunk." I guess it's a good thing...I'm sure they will learn plenty of names once Amelia starts school.

Sleeping Henry

cousins

courtney came down with kate and jane for amelia's birthday. we had such a good time getting mexican food, playing at the beach, and getting ice cream. such a fun day! and, the cousins love each other so much.

Opening Gifts

Amelia's Birth"day" was actually a Birth weekend this year. With a party on Friday, family celebrations with her cousins on Saturday and her actual Birthday on Sunday it was quite the party weekend.

Here she is on the actual day of her birthday opening gifts.

Amelia's Birthday

Amelia turned 5 in March. She wanted a "Cat In The Hat" birthday party. I temporarily lost my good judgment and invited 14 four and five year olds to my house, without their parents. We had a fun time, but Chris and I were exhausted at the end. We decorated in the classic Dr. Seuss colors, ate goldfish and cupcakes. Played pin the tail on the Cat, don't spill the goldfish, and a balloon relay game. My friend Liz made balloon animals for all the kids, which were a huge hit. Amelia was thrilled, so I guess it was a success!

Makeup

Amelia loves to put makeup on while I am putting on my own makeup. It's fun to have her hang out with me.
