He's Going to Hate This Post

Happy 30th Birthday.

Father's Day

I think Chris enjoyed his Father's Day...complete with a walk on the beach, watching a movie in a fort with his kids, a steak dinner and concert tickets to see Radiohead.
However, I don't think I could ever do enough to show my gratitude to him for being the father of my children. His kind heart, playful spirit and generous love make me, Amelia and Miles extremely happy.

Siblings

Amelia doesn't ever want to go anywhere without Miles. I don't think she remembers life before him...and crazy enough...its hard for me too.

This Is How She Loves Him...

Getting Bigger

Miles had a check-up last week and he was almost 9 pounds...2 pounds heavier than when he was born. His double chin is coming in strong and he is filling out nicely everywhere else as well. I just think he gets better looking every day.

Yesterday, he smiled...a real smile...not a gas smile...Miles does not smile when he is gassy...believe me. It was so cute...it started off small, and then got bigger and bigger. And he smiled not once, but twice, and then later when Chris came home, and then this morning for Chris. I tried to capture his toothless grin but was never quick enough. I think the concerned look on his face is almost as cute as his grin...

New Conversations with Amelia

It's been awhile since I posted some of Amelia's newest sayings and recent funny conversations...

If you ask Amelia what her dad's name is, she says, " Chris Jennifer David Wignall." She is a bit confused that her dad's full name is Christopher, not just Chris. And, so she adds a Jennifer to the end of Chris, instead of just saying Christopher.

The other day at lunch we were talking about the letter M...since Mommy, Mia and Miles all start with M. Our conversation went like this.

Me: M, M, M Mommy. M, M, M Mia.
Amelia: M, M, M Baby Boy

Amelia is just figuring out that when other people sneeze you say "Bless You," but if you sneeze you say, "Excuse Me." Sometimes she gets them confused...its really cute.

If I am talking and Amelia can't hear what I am saying, she will come closer and say, "What you talking about Mom?"

Amelia often asks for treats...here is how the conversation frequently goes:

Amelia: "Mom, can I have some gum?"
Me: "I don't have any gum."
Amelia: "What you have? You have candy? You have mints? You have popsicles? Huh, mom, what you have?"

Bama Stephame's Visit

Grandma Stephanie came and stayed with us last week. Amelia was of course in heaven with all the attention...though Miles got his fair share too. We had a wonderful time playing all week.
