Miles' Blessing Weekend
Last week was such a fun week. Grandma Stephanie, Grandpa Barry & Aunt Jenny came to visit for a few days, followed closely by Uncle Todd, Grandma Gaylene & Grandpa Steve, Aunt Lauren, Aunt Kari, Aunt Tori & Uncle Evan. Not far behind them was Uncle Brian & Aunt Courtney (and soon to be cousin Kate), Great Grandma and Grandpa Patten and Great Grandma and Grandpa Andersen. WOW! We felt so loved to have so many people come to celebrate with us.

July 4th
For Independence Day we went swimming, and then had a small bbq at home with our family...which started off a bit funny after we found a mouse hanging out in our bbq.
After we cleaned the bbq and ate dinner I told Amelia we were going to go hear music and dance. On our way out to get in the car Amelia stopped and said, "wait mom, I need my tutu." After heading back in to get the tutu we drove to a local park where there was going to be a concert. Key word...was. The concert ended just before pulled up. So, we headed to the cove where I thought another concert was going to happen...again, no music.
Amelia was so sad, and just wanted to dance, dance, dance. So, we found a little patch of grass and danced. There was no music and we were the only people dancing, but Amelia thought it was perfect. She could have danced for an hour.
Many people at the cove stopped to comment on her cute tutu and show us their own ballet moves.
On our way back to the car we caught a fireworks show, which Amelia loved.
What a great day!

Talking with Amelia.
Here are just a few more things I never want to forget that Amelia said.
Conversation #1
Chris: Amelia, we're going to eat dinner at a restaurant tonight. Where do you want to go?
Amelia: Costco.
Chris: I don't want to go to Costco.
Amelia: You don't want Costco? Why not? You want somfin else? Huh?
I think we go to Costco too often, when our daughter thinks its a restaurant. I don't think any place that sells hotdogs and something called a "chicken bake" can be considered a restaurant.
Conversation #2
Emily (to Amelia sitting in the bathtub): Do you know how much I love you?
Amelia(holding up 2 fingers): yes, 2
Emily (spreading my arms really wide): no, I love you this much
Amelia: No mom. I love you 2 (too). I love you too.
Conversation #3
Amelia: How much you love me?
Chris: I love you 2.
Amelia: You love me 8.
Conversation #4
Last week Chris watched the cartoon Batman with Amelia & Miles while I was sleeping. Later that night they had this conversations.
Amelia: Batman's not nice.
Chris: Batman is nice. The Joker isn't nice.
Amelia: Oh, the joker's not very nice.

Miles Birth Announcement
Thought I would post Miles announcement here. Chris gave me this great idea to use a Miles Davis CD cover to announce the birth of Miles David. Get it? Anyway, my great idea to mail the announcement in paper CD jackets was a very expensive great idea since the USPS charges you more to mail something square. So, I only mailed them to family. So, friends, if you are reading this, don't be offended that I didn't spend the 62 cents to mail this to you. Sorry I'm so cheap.
