Playing Pretend

Amelia has been revealing her little imagination to us.

It all started a few weeks ago with "baby girl." A blanket she rolls up and places on her pillow or in Miles' bed. Then, she piles blankets on top of baby girl...like 5 or 6 blankets. Apparently baby girl gets cold easily. She transfers the "baby girl" from her bed to Miles bed and back many times a day.

Then, yesterday on our way home from the park Amelia informed me that we were bringing a friend home...a friend she named Itchy. Itchy ate lunch with us...she needed her own pb&j sandwich...she did not want to share with Amelia. Itchy took a nap with Amelia and pretty much accompanied us all day long. Amelia gave me a play by play of what her friend was doing all day long. And she is constantly chattering away to her friend.

Last night, while at Costco, Amelia informed us that Wolfie needed her own hot dog. We asked who Wolfie was and duh, mom and dad, Wolfie IS Itchy. They are the same imaginary girl. I told Amelia that I was not buying a hot dog for Wolfie/Itchy and Amelia promptly responded, "Wolfie is pretending to eat a hot dog." Now she is pretending that her imaginary friend is pretending...whoa.

Then, on the ride home from Costco when we asked where Wolfie/Itchy was she let me know that Wolfie was sitting on my lap helping me drive home.

Just before I started typing this post Amelia informed me that I had just sat on her friend...whoops! I just never know where her friend will turn up...I'm really trying to keep up here people, but that Wolfie/Itchy girl is quick and very elusive.

The only thing I know about Wolfie/Itchy other than she is a girl is that she has a baby brother. Two little peas in a pod.

She is so smart! I love the names she came up with, who wouldn't want to be named Wolfie or Itchy!

So fun!! I was kinda sad that Audrey never had an imaginary friend. I still remember the name of my sister's imaginary friend. What a creative little girl

Just so you know I (Bryan) had an imaginary friend named Keefer, yes Keefer, really that is not a joke his name was Keefer. I ended up completely normal so don't worry she should be fine, she will after all end up like me a complete genius. As do all of us who are clever enough to come up with imaginary friends. Just so you know the majority of our conversations came up during potty time.
