Wignall Halloween Party 2008

Amelia and I talk about her birthday party everyday. The birthday party that happens when she turns 3...in 4 months. We've talked about it daily since Hannah's 3rd birthday...7 months ago...right after Amelia turned 2. She's pretty excited about it.

Since we still have quite awhile until the big shindig I thought we should have a party in the meantime. So, we invited all the kids in our neighborhood to a Halloween Party.

We decorated the house, and made yummy food.

We dressed up. Black hair-dye and all.

We decorated sugar cookies and ate popcorn and fruit. Played pin the nose on the pumpkin (wanna make lots of 2 year-olds cry...this is an easy way to do it). Trick-or-treated. And, generally had ourselves a wonderful time.
Yep, she is really this cute in person. Audrey was an awesome dragon.

Seybrielle LOVED being a princess. And, we LOVED having her at our party.

Caleb always had candy in each hand.
Little Luna was an adorable bear.
Bindy (aka Audrey Gathright) added some adventure to our party. Amelia adores Audrey...and who doesn't?

Baby Seth...that's Amelia calls him...and his mom Lindsey. I've only seen Seth dressed up in costume twice...and both were awesome.
The 3 musketeers enjoying the party.

Amelia & Gabe. Gabe was a giraffe. Can't you tell? He brought his costume to show everyone, but decided against wearing it. Maybe next time!

We had so, so much fun. Thank you Audrey M, Alyssa, Audrey G., Gabe, Ashley, Seth, Seybrielle, Hannah, Caleb, Daisy, Jimmy, Luna, Kaitlyn, Taylor and Daniel for making our Halloween spooktacular this year. Sorry I didn't get pics of everybody!

And we had so much fun I think this is going to be an annual occurrence.

Modern Art

The other day I got out some paints, paper and brushes to occupy Amelia while I got in the shower.

Here's what she looked like before she started painting:

Here's what I found when I got out of the shower:

Yea. I'm pretty sure the expression of disgust on her face is from the taste of paint she can't get out of her mouth.

And yea. She doesn't paint while I shower anymore.

Hannah & Amelia

My good friend Adrianne and I have set-up the sweetest babysitting trade. Every other week I watch Hannah one morning and she watches Amelia on the other weeks (i'm not doing a very good job explaining it...but trust me, its awesome).

Anyway, so as if Hannah and Amelia didn't already get to play together enough, now they spend several hours together in the morning at one of our houses.

Adrianne, being the genius, previous elementary school-teacher, crafty girl that she is always has the kids doing something cool.

Amelia loves it. And apparently, she doesn't stop talking to Adrianne for the entire 2 hours.

My favorite part? It's 2 hours of silence for me.

Anti-F

Amelia & I frequently play the following game. She says a letter of the alphabet and we compile a list of everyone we know with a name that starts with that letter. We were playing in the car the other day (I know...this doesn't sound like a very fun game...but she LOVES it) and we had gone through the regular letters...A...E...B...C...you get the idea. She was silent for a few minutes and then said...Mama, there are no F's in our Famomy (Family).

I thought about it for a few minutes and it's true. No one in either my family or Chris' family has a name that starts with F.

I think someone should fix this little problem stat. Nathalie? Ashley?

Oh...and isn't she brilliant for figuring that out all by herself?

Together At Last

This was the first time all 5 cousins have been together. And, the fall foliage was the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot.

Have you ever tried to get 5 kids under 5 to sit still longer than 5 seconds? It's impossible. But we sure had fun trying.

uncle richard

he got up early fed the kids breakfast every morning, babysat them so nat and I could go shopping and out to lunch, cleaned, cooked, and pretty much made the weekend awesome. and I only took one picture of him. good thing it is darling. amelia sure loves her uncle richard.

Halloween

It is a very well known fact that Wignalls love candy. More than the ordinary person. And Wignall children love candy. More than ordinary children. So, Halloween is very much celebrated at our house. And spending Halloween with your cousins is better than Christmas.

p.s. - Grandma Stephanie - I couldn't decide which pictures to post...so I am posting almost all of them. Enjoy!

and lest you think that we neglected the boys in the family...

We finished off the night with baths and pizza. What a perfect evening!

Figuring Each Other Out

We just returned from a delightful trip to visit Nathalie, Richard, Emma, Cate & Parker in Kentucky. We had so, so much fun, and we are already missing them.

We got there late at night, so we didn't get to see Cate & Emma until the morning. Amelia and Cate spent most of the first day getting to know each other again, since they were only one the last time they were together.

It only took a little bit of time before they were dressing up and dancing around the living room.
It was fun for Amelia & Cate to be alone before Emma got home from school.
